Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Skryp for using the Skryp website, API, MCP server and dashboard.

Version 2026-10-02 · in force from 2 October 2026

The important parts, in short

  • Plans renew monthly on the same date and are charged to your card until you cancel. If you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the month you paid for.
  • Credits. Plan credits reset each month and don’t roll over. Top-up credits don’t expire while your account is open.
  • Refunds. Full refund within 7 days of a payment if none of its credits have been used; request it in Billing. Otherwise payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires.
  • Your responsibility. You decide what Skryp collects for you and how you use it, and must follow the law and our Acceptable Use Policy. If a claim against us arises from your use, you cover our costs.
  • Limited liability. Our liability is limited to what you paid us in the three months before a claim, and excludes indirect losses. This doesn’t apply to gross negligence or fraud, or where the law doesn’t allow a limit.
  • No guarantees about websites. Sites can block, change or go offline. We can’t guarantee that any page can be read or that every result is correct.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Skryp (“we”, “us”). They apply when you create an account, use the API, the MCP server or the dashboard, or buy a plan or credits. If you use Skryp for an organisation, you accept them on its behalf and confirm that you may. You must be 18 or older to open an account.

You can read, save and print these terms from this page at any time. The version you accepted is recorded with your account and with each payment.

2. The service

Skryp reads web pages and turns them into data: Markdown, structured fields, search results, site maps, archived copies, monitored changes and recorded workflows. It fetches through our own network, residential and mobile proxies, browsers and unblocking services. What each feature does is described on the product pages and in the documentation. We add, change and remove features over time; if we remove a feature from a paid plan, we tell paying customers at least 30 days before.

3. Your account and API keys

  • Give an email address you use, and keep it current. We send account and payment notices there.
  • Keep your password and API keys secret. What is done with them counts as done by you until you tell us they were exposed and we have had a fair chance to act. You can revoke and rotate keys in the dashboard at any time.
  • A workspace holds its account’s keys, credits and data. One person opens it and is its owner.

4. Credits and the rate card

  • Every result costs credits according to the rate card on the pricing page. Failed, blocked and cached results cost nothing. Each request holds its highest possible cost first and is charged only what its receipt shows; every request’s receipt is in the dashboard.
  • The Free plan gives 1,000 credits each calendar month; unused ones expire when the month ends.
  • Plan credits renew each period, and unused ones expire when the period ends. Plan credits are used before top-up credits.
  • Top-up credits (credits you buy) do not expire while your account is open. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred, except that an eligible payment can be refunded (section 6).
  • We may change the rate card and plan prices. For paying customers, a price increase applies from the first renewal at least 30 days after we email you, and you can cancel before it applies. A change to the rate card applies to requests made after it takes effect.

5. Plans, prices and payment

  • Prices are set in US dollars and charged in South African rand at R17 to the US dollar; the amount in rand is shown before you pay. The amount at checkout is the full price: we add no fees. Your bank may charge its own fees, for example for a payment in a foreign currency.
  • Payments are taken by Zaiq, which runs Skryp, and processed by Paystack on its own payment page, so your bank may show Zaiq. We never see or store your full card number.
  • A plan starts when its first payment succeeds and renews every month on the same date (or the month’s last day), charged to the card you paid with, until you cancel. The minimum term is one month.
  • An upgrade starts at once: you pay the new plan’s full monthly price, a new monthly period starts that day, and your unused plan credits move into it.
  • A downgrade starts when the current period ends, and the lower price is charged then.
  • If a renewal payment fails, we email you. If no payment succeeds within 2 days of the renewal date, the workspace moves to the Free plan. Top-up credits stay.
  • Credit top-ups are one-off payments at your plan’s rate per 1,000 credits.

6. Cancelling and refunds

  • You can cancel a plan at any time in Billing. It will not renew; the plan and its credits last until the end of the period you paid for, and then the workspace is on the Free plan.
  • Refund within 7 days. Within 7 days of any payment, if none of the credits it gave you have been used, you can refund it in Billing under Payments, or ask us by email. A refunded top-up’s credits are removed; a refunded plan ends at once and the workspace moves to the Free plan. The money goes back to your card through Paystack: we start the refund straight away, and it reaches you within 30 days, usually much sooner.
  • Otherwise payments are not refundable, except where these terms (sections 10 and 11) or the law say otherwise. See Refunds and cancellation.
  • The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act gives consumers seven days to cancel many online purchases, but not services that begin, with the consumer’s agreement, within those seven days. When you buy, you ask us to make the credits available at once. Our 7-day refund for unused payments applies either way. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

7. Acceptable use

Use Skryp lawfully and as the Acceptable Use Policy says. You are responsible for having the right to collect and use what you ask Skryp to fetch, including personal information and content behind logins. We may refuse a request, or suspend a key or an account, to stop use that breaks the law or the policy. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

8. Your data

  • What you collect with Skryp, and what you upload or save, is yours. You allow us to process it only to provide the service to you: fetching, storing, extracting and showing it, and passing it to the providers that do part of the work (see Subprocessors).
  • How long we keep what, and your rights, are in the Privacy Policy. Copies of results shown in the dashboard are kept for 14 days.
  • Save only logins you are allowed to use for this. Saved logins are encrypted and used only for your own requests.
  • We do not sell your data.

9. Availability and support

We work to keep Skryp running, but we do not promise any level of uptime, or that any particular site can be read: sites change and block automated readers, and a page that worked yesterday may fail today. Failed requests cost nothing. Support is by email at support@skryp.dev; see Support.

10. If we stop the service

If we close Skryp, we give at least 30 days’ notice by email and refund top-up credits you have not used, and the unused part of any plan period you paid for.

11. Suspending and closing accounts

  • You can close your account at any time in Settings. Closing stops any plan from renewing and deletes your data as the Privacy Policy describes. Unused credits cannot be used after that, so refund an eligible payment first.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, that is used for fraud, or when the law requires it. We give notice and a chance to put things right, unless the breach is serious, or notice would be unlawful or let harm continue. If we close your account without such a reason, we refund top-up credits you have not used.

12. Our liability

  • Skryp is provided as it is and as available. Apart from rights the law gives you that cannot be excluded, we make no promises about the service beyond those in these terms, including that results are complete, accurate or suitable for a particular purpose.
  • Our total liability to you for all claims about Skryp is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event that caused the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit, revenue, data or opportunity.
  • These limits do not apply to loss caused by our gross negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct, or where the law does not allow liability to be limited.

13. Claims caused by your use

If someone makes a claim against us because of what you collected or how you used Skryp in breach of these terms, the Acceptable Use Policy or the law, you will cover our reasonable costs and any amount we have to pay. We will tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in answering it.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We email account holders about a material change at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel or close your account before then. The version and date are at the top of this page.

15. Law and disputes

South African law governs these terms. If something goes wrong, write to us first at support@skryp.dev and we will try to put it right. Disputes are decided by the courts of South Africa. Nothing in these terms stops you using any remedy the law gives you.
